600 miles...JUST DO IT!

Here we are..in Antigua!!!

It's 00.38 AST on February 21st and we have completed the race!
In 2 days and 13 hours we run the Caribbean 600 miles and we ranked 14th in IRC overall and 8th in IRC Zero with a great result!

We are really pleased of this outcome because the Russian and Italian team had a short time to getting to know each other and last but not least, because our approach is racing with comforts!

Now we do deserve some sleep, then we will set the yacht on a cruising mode, as the same guests who joined the race they are going to enjoy few more days cruising on Cape Arrow around these beautiful islands!

See you soon at the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta!!!

With a speed of 13 knots and only 96nm left, we may arrive by tonight!

Race start highlights

A sneak peek from the RORC 600 blog as a video action from the start of the race!

Thus we have been reached by the news of Liara which had to retire from the competition due to rig lost..
We are really close to her team and it’s great that no one got hurt!

All the best mates!

Always Trust an "Old Boy" perception!

Hi Everyone!

It's 6 p.m. and we're sailing toward Nevis. This morning, during the preparation for the start procedures, there were 25 kts, so we decided to reef the main sail and set the foresail. But, thanks to our old boys (Sergey and Guido) who sensed a drop in the wind strength, we changed our mind and set the full sail. The decision was remarkable, we overtook some favourite and bigger boats!
Then the route towards Barbuda was a little tricky as we were between a beam reach and a board reach, so the guys on board started setting and hauling down continuously the gennaker with a good team spirit! Anyway all has gone flawlessly.
Unfortunately without a proper sail for this condition we loosed position, but after the Barbuda's mark we set the big gennaker for the downwind and things improved.
Despite little complications onboard, we keep going straight to the end of the race.

Saluti,

See you soon!

Andrea

Getting Ready for RORC Caribbean 600 !!

Russian & Italian sailors are now reaching Antigua to getting ready for the next RORC Caribbean 600 race...

The Team Russia, that already took place into Transatlantic & Maxi Regatta onboard Cape Arrow, is back!
This time it has been increased and enhanced with professional and Olympic sailors like Sergey Borodinov.

Additionally Guido Maisto, Claudio Novi, Niki Mosca and many other sailors from the Cape Arrow crew are ready to start all together this race.

We will certainly have a lot of fun!
